  • High Intensity Soil Mapping

Soils, an Important Component of Any Project

Soils are an important component of any project. A thorough understanding of the physical and chemical characteristics of soils is essential for a successful development project.

Accurate soil data determines what type of structure can be built. Soils determine what type of drainage needs to be designed and installed. Soils can assist in predicting water issues, plant growth potential and erosion potential.

We Work With You

To Ensure We Meet Your Expectations

Soils are the base of every “on the ground” project and essential to precise engineering. SRE offers expert soil science services by scientists certified by the State of New Hampshire.

SRE conducts and records test pits for all types of use, including engineering design, drainage design, and septic designs. Our scientists perform Site Specific Soil Mapping for NHDES Alteration of Terrain Permitting, High Intensity Soil Mapping for Soil Based Lot Sizing and Soil Assessments for many other applications. SRE also conducts soil infiltration tests utilizing an amoozemeter and we also perform percolation tests as well.

Our soil expertise is used in our Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan development and has contributed to our success in wetland mitigation. Our knowledge in soils can lower construction costs by careful sediment and erosion control planning based on the erosion potential of the soils found on your site.

Specific Best Management Practices can be used that address the physical characteristics of the soil type preventing water quality impacts from occurring right from the start of construction.

We focus on innovative thinking, different approaches, and an understanding of our clients’ goals. We like challenges. SRE prides itself on its permitting successes and not on its billable hours.

Permit-by-Notifications, Minimum Impact Applications, Minor and Major Impact Applications, US Army Corps of Engineers Individual Permit Applications are some of the wetland permitting options that SRE can assist you with.

SRE works with local, state and federal regulators including the US Army Corps of Engineers, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Fish & Wildlife Agency on a routine basis.
